2018 marks the first year of production for the Platinum Britannia in 1/10 ounce. Now investors can secure pure platinum in a trusted, affordably-sized, official government issue coinage minted by Britain's Royal Mint.

The design is striking. Britannia - the female embodiment of the British Isles - stands holding her trident on the coin's reverse. This side also carries the following text; "Britannia", the issue date, "1/10 oz", ".9995 Platinum".

The obverse features the familiar coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the text; "D*G*Reg*F*D", "10 Pounds", and "Elizabeth II".

The coin is legal tender in the United Kingdom with a face value of 10 British pounds. Its weight and purity are guaranteed by the British government.

About the Royal Mint

The Royal Mint has been continuously minting British coinage for more than 1,000 years. The mint was moved to the Tower of London in the late thirteenth century, and operated there for five centuries. In 1812 The Royal Mint moved from the Tower to new premises on London’s Tower Hill. Finally, in 1967 the construction of a new Royal Mint began in its current location in South Wales, UK.

The Royal Mint has a long and storied history and is always respected, but innovation keeps it at the forefront of the world when it comes to minting. The Mint employs the latest equipment, technology and methods to deliver beautiful, well crafted coins with fine detail.  The combination of rich tradition and innovation have made Royal Mint coins recognized throughout the world for their quality.

My 1st Platinum Investment!

By on April 8th, 2018

This is a beautiful platinum coin made by the Royal Mint. It is just the right size for me to begin investing in platinum behind the gold and platinum that I have been investing in previously. As usual, MMX got it to me quickly and professionally as they have for me for years!
