2023 Silver American Eagles Now Available - Grab Yours Today!

The US Mint updated the design of the iconic silver American Eagle for the first time since the series was launched in 1986. The change was made midway through 2021. 2023 is the third year of issue for the updated design featuring a majestic bald eagle carrying an oak branch on the coin's obverse side.

The silver American Eagle is the world's most popular bullion coin and Money Metals Exchange is proud to offer it at a very competitive price. The US Mint began minting the American Silver Eagle 1 oz coin in 1986. Like other bullion coins, such as the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, each American Eagle coin contains a minimum of one troy ounce of .999 pure silver. The weight and purity of each Eagle Silver coin is backed by the US government.

Introduced in 1986, Silver American Eagle coins weigh in at one ounce of silver (99.9% pure silver guarantee), authorized by Title II of public law 99-61 and certified by the United States Mint. US Mint Silver Eagles have a very strong sales history, having immediately sold out when released in 1986 and at many times since. Its popularity continues, as evidenced by its 2014/2015 record breaking sales figures. In 2014 alone, an estimated 44 million coins were struck and sold, rising to approximately 47 million in 2015.

At several times in recent years, the mint had to postpone or ration sales of the coin due to high demand! Government mismanagement is part of the reason for the scarcity at times, but that is not the only reason. What makes this coin so popular?

The coin’s striking design is one reason. America has often been represented by its symbolic images - whether this be the statue of liberty or the stars and stripes on the US flag.

Who Designed the Silver Eagle?

The design is based on Adolph A. Weinman's 1916 Walking Liberty half dollar, widely considered one of the most beautiful American coins ever minted. It is easily a must have for savvy US silver buyers Its design evokes feelings of ambition, courage and, most importantly, freedom, similar to those experienced by American settlers when they arrived in the 16th and 17th centuries.

With its beautiful design, US Mint Silver Eagles are a top seller on Money MetalsWe offer Eagle bullion coins, individually or as a Proof Eagle set. The proof sets are currently available in gold. We also offer Proof Silver Eagles.

Who Is on The Silver Eagle Coin?

Lady Liberty (obverse) - This beautifully crafted Silver Eagle coin features a design similar to the Walking Liberty. It depicts Lady Liberty walking amongst the prominent sun's rays wearing a gown stitched with the American flag's stars and stripes. In her left arm, she carries branches of laurel and oak which embody American pride. Such an image cannot fail to resonate with Americans and instill the national pride within them -- a reminder of what the American Dream means.

Eagle (reverse) - The design depicts a bald eagle as it readies to land. The majestic bird is carrying an oak branch, the makings of a strong nest. Inscriptions on the reverse include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”

The coin’s symbolism is capable of conjuring positive energy, encouraging us to look forward with positivity. The text on the coin reinforces the United States’ motto, ‘E Pluribus Unum’ (out of many, one). On the obverse, Lady Liberty seems to be supported by her faith as she continues her journey towards the Westward Sun, backed by the text, ‘In God We Trust.’ The coin, therefore, is worth more than just its weight in silver; it is a story and reminder of the American heritage and what America means for us as individuals.

Why Buy Silver Eagles?

Money Metals believe a Silver Coin is generally purchased either as part of a collection, for profit, or as financial insurance. The immense popularity of the Silver Eagle coin makes it a mandatory part of any portfolio, and its value is priceless as consideration is paid to what it symbolizes. Other people buy silver bullion coins as a hedge against inflation and in today’s unknown economy, silver coins are an excellent choice of investment.

Silver bullion coins can also be held in self-directed individual retirement accounts (IRAs). Although the coins only have a face value of $1, their intrinsic value is a lot higher and dictated by the price of silver at the point of sale, along with the coin’s silver content. And the fact that the price of silver is much lower compared to gold, it makes a great investment for those new to the game. You can buy these coins in large quantities and easily store them in your home using monster boxes, or coin tubes. The great silver prices make the American Eagle silver dollar a great piece for any collection.

concerned

By Quirino S. on April 27th, 2023

I reviewed many outlets on the internet. Came to my conclusion to pick MMX just based on what I read. They seem reliable, honest and trustworthy, especially with my check to them, being "lost" in the mail. They were very patient and kept up on it's arrival, which finally got to them, and kept assuring me that my new "customer" status would not be jeopardized. With a large amount of Eagles ordered, I was on pins and needles after some time passed still not seeing the order received. Finally it did arrive and I can't say enough just how well packaged everything came and arrived just as they described it to be. I usually don't buy like this but MMX made it seamless and will buy again from them (which I ordered another 2 weeks after I didn't get the 1st order) Thanks MMX for your professional business and to the ones in customer service for their fantastic knowledge and help Q

Beautiful, but….

By Michael C. on April 7th, 2023

I recently received my 2023 Eagle from MMX. I have only been buying one per year because I can get a much better deal on other bullion coins. I wish our Mint would get its act together and start producing higher volumes at competitive prices. Until then, it makes more sense to buy coins from other countries if you’re buying in bulk.

Silver Dollar - money exchange to have - great gifts also that won't loose value

By Rebecca L. on March 16th, 2023

My husband and I both purchased several thousand dollars of silver from this company. I purchased the Silver American Eagle Dollar and he purchased the Kruger Silver Dollar. Anyway, my girlfriend told me it couldn't of been that easy and real silver to have it checked. We took our coins to the jewelry store, they were both weighed and had the acid test and cut into the coins to see if they were real and both stood the test. The jewelry store manager said that silver per ounce is the same, however, the Kruger Silver Dollar cost less and my husband was able to acquire more of them than I did for less amount of money.
