America The Beautiful Silver Coin (ATB Coin) - Cumberland Island National Seashore
The Cumberland Island National Seashore includes 9,886 acres of protected wilderness on Georgia's southernmost barrier island. Accessible by ferry only, the park includes sandy beaches and dunes, marshes along with several historic sites - including buildings. The island's fascinating, and sometimes terrible, history includes Native Americans, missionaries, and African slaves.
No more than 300 visitors are allowed on Cumberland Island at a time. They may see wild horses which descended from stock brought originally by Spanish missionaries in the 1500s. The shoreline there is also prime for nesting loggerhead sea turtles from May through October.

The obverse carries the familiar coin portrait of George Washington - the portrait featured on current Washington quarters. The inscriptions on this side include "The United States of America," "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and, "Quarter Dollar."
The ATB silver coins are packaged by the US Mint in tubes of 10 coins. A full Mint box contains 10 tubes for a total of 500 ounces. The weight and purity (.999 Fine Silver, 5.0 Ounce) of the coin are inscribed on the coin's rim and are guaranteed by the US government.

We live in Georgia and my hubby has told me stories of camping on Cumberland Island when he was a Boy Scout (mosquitoes as big as the birds lol). When the quarter arrived I was so pleased. It was so much more beautiful than the pictures show. The details are gorgeous and the finished touches perfect. The coin arrived in perfect shape, not a scratch or spot. Money metals delivers another delightful coin.
