Dear Maine Taxpayer,
LD 372, a measure to end sales tax on purchases of gold and silver coins, bars, and rounds, was approved by the Joint Taxation committee.
But the bill is at HUGE RISK of being struck down by the House of Representatives.
Senators in Maine have heard your phone calls and emails, but the House needs to hear from you right now!
Even if you have contacted Senators before, please act now to contact these new Representatives.
We can't stop now. We must act. This is incredibly important.
46 states have now ended this tax. Maine should be next.
Simply CALL and EMAIL the Maine House leaders below and urge them to put an end to taxes on the purchase of gold and silver by voting YES on LD 372.
It isn't often where taking just 5 minutes of your time can achieve something so meaningful for freedom and sound money.
46 states have already declared that taxing gold and silver is wrong by fully or partially exempting the precious metals from sales tax. Maine should continue the trend.
Time is running short.
If the House does not vote yes on LD 372, Maine citizens will continue to be penalized with a ridiculous sales tax when they seek to protect the purchasing power of their money using gold and silver.
Maine is an outlier. In fact, Maine's only neighbor (New Hampshire) doesn't charge sales taxes on precious metals either.
If Maine does not pass this popular sales tax exemption for the monetary metals, investors and savers in the state will simply take their precious metals business to other states to avoid being hammered with these discriminatory taxes.
After you've emailed these key members of the House, please click this link to find your state representative. Contact them ASAP and urge them to vote YES on LD 372 to end sales taxes on gold and silver coins, bars, and rounds.
With more than $36 trillion in debt, America's inflationary policies have put everyone at risk. This bill would remove a major disincentive in the way of saving wealth in real money, i.e. gold and silver. Respectfully,
Jp Cortez, Executive Director Sound Money Defense League
P.S. Please contact the Maine legislators listed above TODAY and urge them to end the sales tax on the monetary metals.
