Although they are more expensive than our silver rounds, American Silver Eagles are also easy to buy and sell at most coin, precious metal, and brokerage companies.

The kangaroo, symbolic of Australia and the Perth Mint, is the largest marsupial surviving on earth today. The animal's distinctive style of movement, hopping on its hind legs whilst using its large, muscular tail for balance, means it is one of the only animals which is unable to move backwards easily. The kangaroo features in the Australian national emblem. As a Perth Mint first, the coin includes an authentication feature on the reverse - in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter ‘A', the first letter in AUSTRALIA. The mark is only detectable under a magnifying glass and is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.

Money Metals Exchange commissioned this beautiful one troy ounce, .999 pure silver coin (or "round") not only to provide a tool for citizens to protect against the collapse of the dollar's purchasing power, but to help reinvigorate the very symbols of Liberty upon which this nation was founded. These symbols are not to be denigrated and demonized as the highest levels of our political class are now trying to do. Instead they must be renewed, revered, and passed on to new generations who want the Founding Fathers' principles reasserted in modern-day America.

One of the most beautiful coins in US history, the Buffalo nickel remains very popular among numismatists. Nowadays, numerous private mints produce silver rounds and bars bearing a version of the original Buffalo design. Better yet, 1 Oz Buffalo silver rounds are affordable and abundantly available.

A coin and a round of the same design may look very similar to each other. They may have the same size, diameter, and thickness. Add to that the same weight and percentage of precious metal and you can see the source of confusion. (Buffalo silver coins)
However, that's where the similarities end. On the one hand, coins are generally coined by a government mint. Government-minted coins generally have a face value, meaning they are legal tender. They often feature the mark of the production US Mint.
On the other hand, a round is coined at a private mint. It can have a similar obverse and reverse design as a coin, but it won't have a face value. This means a round isn't a legal tender or denominated in a government currency.
In general, coins tend to have a higher premium than rounds. Coins can be more popular with collectors while rounds appeal more to investors looking to get as much precious metal for their flat currency as possible.

The United States Mint began production of this coin in 2006 as a direct competitor to the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf and other pure gold bullion coins. It also provides an alternative to the popular 1 Oz American Gold Eagle coin, for investors with whom purity matters. The Buffalo is minted in .9999 fine gold (24 karat) rather than the .9167 (22 karat) pure metal used for the Eagle. While both coins contain a full troy ounce of gold, the American Buffalo gold is slightly smaller in size because it does not contain the alloy metals, meaning no silver and copper.
The gold mint American Buffalo is a striking coin with a profile image of a Native American chieftain stamped on one side and the iconic Buffalo on the other. It is a "legal tender" and carries a denomination of $50. Each coin is guaranteed by the US Mint for the weight and purity marked on the reverse side - 1 oz .9999 fine gold.

Money Metals Exchange is also pleased to make available the beautiful Gold American Eagle in $50 (1 Oz) denomination, produced by the U.S. Mint since 1986. The 1 troy oz Gold Eagle coin value is based on its gold content, but it also carries a legal tender value of 50 U.S. dollars. If you are interested in purchasing any other products, we are happy to help you outside of the Monthly Purchase Plan. Just give us a call and we can handle your purchase of these other items on an individual order basis.
Silver rounds are privately minted rather than government issue and therefore offer significantly lower premiums. Rounds are among the most widely traded bullion products available. The American Eagles are the most popular bullion coins in the world as they offer beauty, confidence and maximum liquidity.
Currently, you are able to choose only one silver option and/or one gold option at a time. You are welcome to begin purchasing one item and then switch to the other item after you have reached your goal.
The Monthly Purchase Plan is designed to run each month so that you may purchase silver and gold automatically ‐ without worrying about it. We can certainly accommodate changes if needed, but frequent changes increase the chances of confusion and can delay shipping. If you would like to make changes on a regular basis, it is best to call in each month and make an individual purchase rather than enrolling in the Monthly Purchase Plan.
Yes, you may add gold or silver as long as you do so at least two business days prior to your lock date. You can make changes by visiting our website and completing a change request or by giving us a call. Please keep in mind that changes submitted on your lock date will be effective for the following month’s purchase.
Yes, you may change your amounts as long as you do so at least two business days prior to your lock date. You can make changes by visiting our website and completing a change request or by giving us a call. Please keep in mind that changes submitted in fewer than two business days from your lock date will be effective for the following month’s purchase.
Monthly Purchase Plan Lock Date / Spot Price Questions
This is the day that you choose to lock in the price of silver and gold each month. There are four lock dates available to choose from; the 1st, 10th, 15th or 25th of each month. The total price of your metal, the spot price and the premium, is locked in for you at close of markets on that date.
We offer the four different lock dates to accommodate personal payment schedules. There is no noticeable pattern that makes one date better than the other. It is always best to choose the date that best fits your personal finances.
Yes. That said, repeated changes to your lock date are not recommended as that can result in errors or delays in your shipping.
The spot price used when calculating your total price per item is determined at noon Eastern Time. Keep in mind that if your lock date falls on a weekend or a holiday, then the spot price is locked in at noon Eastern time on the next business day.
Monthly Purchase Plan Payment Questions
Payments will be charged to your account once your lock date purchase has been completed. It may take 2‐3 business days for the charges to appear on your credit card or bank statement.
Invoices and order acknowledgements will be emailed once the purchase has been completed and payments have been run. Typically, this occurs the evening of your lock date, but may be the next business day.
Invoices will be mailed from our office in Idaho the next business day after your purchase has been completed.
If you have elected to pay by paper check, please arrange for your payment to arrive within 2‐3 days of your lock date. If you haven’t already sent in your check by the time you receive our emailed/mailed invoice, please send it immediately upon receipt of the invoice.
No, payments must be received promptly each month. If payment has not been made for a prior month or if any payments for one-time orders are overdue, your account will be placed on hold until all payments due have been made. Failure to make timely payments may result in existing orders being liquidated and termination of your account.
If we are shipping your purchases to one of the few states that charge sales tax on precious metals, we do collect and remit these taxes. Please note: if you are purchasing based on a fixed dollar amount monthly (rather than a fixed quantity), applicable taxes will be added on top of the amount budgeted for your monthly purchase. The exact amount of taxes added will vary month to month, as this depends on the actual amount spent on the metal you purchase.
Monthly Purchase Plan Shipping Questions
All shipments being sent out every three months will be free shipping regardless of amount.
All shipments with a value of $199.00 or more will be shipped for free.
If you want to ship every month and your total amount is under $199, then you will be charged $7.97 for shipping.
Total Value Shipped | Shipping & Handling |
---|---|
$100 to $198.99 | $7.97 |
$199 + | Free |
This is our best estimate of when your order will ship, but your actual ship date may be sooner or, in rare cases, later. If you pay by credit card, you may expect your order to ship within 1 week after your lock date. If you pay by automatic debit, you may expect your order to ship within 2 weeks after your lock date. If you pay by check, your payment will take 5 business days to clear once we have received your payment. Therefore, your ship date will vary based on when your payment arrives.
We do have long‐term storage options available. Please contact us for more information on setting up an account with Money Metals Depository.
No, individual purchases are processed separately from monthly purchases and therefore we are not able to ship them together. The Monthly Purchase Plan is its own entity and we unfortunately cannot co‐mingle individual orders.
1/10 oz gold pieces are typically shipped in coin flips as it takes 50 pieces to fill a tube. 1 oz silver is typically shipped in coin flips if less than 10 are being shipped together. For shipments of 10 or more, coin tubes are generally used. In some cases, a mix of tubes and flips will be received: for example, a shipment of 29 oz of silver in 1 ounce pieces would normally be shipped with 20 in a tube and 9 in coin flips.
Monthly Purchase Plan Cancellation Questions
Canceling your membership is simple. Please contact us via phone, email, postal mail, or fill out a change request form online. We MUST receive your cancellation TWO BUSINESS DAYS prior to your next lock date in order for the cancellation to take immediate effect..
No, we do not have a cancellation fee.
But, if you are shipping every three months and are cancelling before the three months is up with your amount under $199, you will be charged $7.97 for shipping. We may be able to deduct those charges if you have a sufficient credit balance on your account. If not, you will be asked to make payment of the amount due prior to shipment of existing orders.
