Money Metals Exchange proudly offers the $20 Saint Gaudens Pre-1933 Double Eagle Gold bullion coin. The backstory to this coin's design is very intriguing. President Theodore Roosevelt was inspired by an exhibition of ancient Greek coins at the Smithsonian. He felt as though American coins lacked style and beauty compared to the Grecian coins. In 1907, President Roosevelt chose famous American sculptor Augustus Saint Gaudens for the job. Saint Gaudens would pass shorty thereafter finishing the design. The 1933 double eagles would be the last of its kind. Many consider Saint Gaudens Double Eagles the most beautiful coin in history. Check out all our gold coins for sale! These double eagle coins are a great collectors piece or addition to an investment portfolio.
These coins may be in polished or cleaned condition and are NOT slabbed or graded. Some coins may have extensive wear
ABOUT THE DESIGN
Striding Liberty (obverse) - The obverse gets its design directly from Saint Gauden's original sculpture of the General William T. Sherman monument in Central Park, New York City. It shows Lady Liberty walking while holding a torch and olive branch. The design would later be reused for the American Gold Eagle obverse as well.
Soaring Eagle (reverse) - The reverse design features an American eagle flying above the sun and its rays.
With these 20 dollar gold coins investors get the advantage of super-low premiums along with its beauty and quality.

My first $20 St.Gaudens and it is amagnificent 1908.Excellent condition and luster with minimal wear Hard to believe it's not a graded piece. This was one of 3 gold coins just purchased with MMX and the process was quick, seamless and professional. I will be back to purchase a $10 Indian piece when in stock again! Thank you

Feels so good in my hand and such a treat to the eye. The St Gauden's coins I received were in excellent shape and I will be buying more. I can see why people say gold is real money.

After a few delivery delays, I finally received my order of a St. Gaudens gold 20 dollar (double eagle)! My specimen is a 1924(P) slabbed and rated "MS63"!!! The condition and luster of this coin allows me to Experience the past of my maternal Great Grandfather, and Grandfather, as they may have seen this and the other gold Indian coins of the era; they were both avid coin collectors. As, in my past orders, I have been blown away by the quality and condition of all the coins I've received from Money Medals, including even the so-called junk silver fractionals! I think only of Money Metals, as I continue to add to my "collection"!!!!!!!
