Money Metals Exchange proudly offers the $20 Saint Gaudens Pre-1933 Double Eagle Gold bullion coin. The backstory to this coin's design is very intriguing. President Theodore Roosevelt was inspired by an exhibition of ancient Greek coins at the Smithsonian. He felt as though American coins lacked style and beauty compared to the Grecian coins. In 1907, President Roosevelt chose famous American sculptor Augustus Saint Gaudens for the job. Saint Gaudens would pass shorty thereafter finishing the design. The 1933 double eagles would be the last of its kind. Many consider Saint Gaudens Double Eagles the most beautiful coin in history.
These coins may be in polished or cleaned condition and are NOT slabbed or graded. Some coins may have extensive wear
ABOUT THE DESIGN
Striding Liberty (obverse) - The obverse gets its design directly from Saint Gauden's original sculpture of the General William T. Sherman monument in Central Park, New York City. It shows Lady Liberty walking while holding a torch and olive branch. The design would later be reused for the American Gold Eagle obverse as well.
Soaring Eagle (reverse) - The reverse design features an American eagle flying above the sun and its rays.
Please note that Money Metals would absolutely not be offering pre 1933 gold coins if it were not for the attractive bullion-like premiums. Right now, these antique coins are super cheap, and whatever premiums that existed in the past have essentially evaporated.
With these 20 dollar gold coins investors get the advantage of super-low premiums along with its beauty and quality.

After a few delivery delays, I finally received my order of a St. Gaudens gold 20 dollar (double eagle)! My specimen is a 1924(P) slabbed and rated "MS63"!!! The condition and luster of this coin allows me to Experience the past of my maternal Great Grandfather, and Grandfather, as they may have seen this and the other gold Indian coins of the era; they were both avid coin collectors. As, in my past orders, I have been blown away by the quality and condition of all the coins I've received from Money Medals, including even the so-called junk silver fractionals! I think only of Money Metals, as I continue to add to my "collection"!!!!!!!

I was born at night, but it wasn't last night... we are being bombarded with advertising about buying gold. The question you have to ask yourself is: Which dealer is trustworthy and which one is just trying to separate this "dummy" from his money? It's hard to tell, because everyone is yelling the same thing. "The Sky Is Falling and You Better Buy Now! (BTW we have the cheapest prices!") Well, I'm a recent gold investor and even though I had the money to invest, I couldn't find anyone I felt comfortable with. I spent 25 years in the car business and you learn to distrust used car salesmen! I'm not sure how I found Money Metals Exchange, but I liked the information they provided on their site. My first purchase was a small pre-made portfolio of silver and gold. I had never held real silver or gold in my hand, (Ok, I don't count jewelry,) so it was exciting, and I decided to buy a little more the next month. I still wasn't ready to jump in with both feet, but they didn't start calling me and harassing me either, which I appreciated. I actually decided to buy my big "stash" from another company, based on their pitch and the fact that the agent was a nice guy. They were very helpful until I got cold feet and wasn't ready to commit, then they got ugly, I mean calling me names, calling me over and over and trying to intimidate me into buying from them! (I know... wtf?) So, the next company I dealt with, again, very helpful. Answered all my questions and I was at the point where I said: "OK, let's do this , where do we start?" and they said, have your bank wire your money to this account... I said wait, whaa??? and they repeated the instructions (visions of used car salesmen were prancing around in glee at duping another sucker). I said we haven't even talked about price, shipping, incentives, premiums or any of that stuff. They said oh, most people just send us their money first, and then we talk about that stuff!!! Then I was the one cursing and stomping and kicking the dog! I said no. That's like you giving me all your money and then telling me what kind of a used car I wanted! Not doing that one! At that point, I decided to go check out their website. Guess what? They had one that basically said "call me for a great deal on GOLD!" Did I feel stupid! Again! I was getting worn out. I called MMX at that point, and they patiently listened while I told my sad tale. The agent, sorry can't remember his name, offered his help whenever I was ready, or explained that I could just order it myself off of the website... no pressure. So, I revisited moneymetals.com and read their articles and listened to their podcasts. You know what? I found the answers to my questions all by myself and when I was ready I called and made the "deal." NO regrets, never felt pressured and I'm very happy with the service and delivery of my precious metals. (Free shipping on orders over $1,000, just sayin!) Oh yeah, I'm supposed to be reviewing my St. Gaudens gold coins. The reason I bought them is because my wife and I are going on some international adventures and we are taking a few of these gold coins as our "Travel Insurance." Did I mention that they are beautiful? I find that I never get tired of just looking at them. It's like artwork in my pocket!
