1/10th Ounce Mercury Gold Round

The 1/10th Ounce Mercury Gold Round is a modern tribute to the classic and highly regarded Mercury Dime design, originally created by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman. While the original Winged Liberty Head dimes were composed of silver, this contemporary round is struck from .9999 fine gold (99.99% pure), offering a unique blend of historical homage and precious metal investment. This is a Money Metals Exchange exclusive gold round that includes a branded design on the obverse and reverse sides.

Gold Round Highlights:

  • Composition and Purity: Each round contains one-tenth of a troy ounce of .9999 fine (99.99% pure) gold, making it a 24k valuable addition to any collection or investment portfolio. The high purity level ensures that investors are getting almost pure gold, enhancing the round's appeal and value.

  • Diameter: 0.62 inches (16 mm)

  • Design: The round faithfully reproduces Weinman's iconic design on the obverse, featuring Lady Liberty donning a winged Phrygian cap, symbolizing freedom of thought and liberty. This image is inspired by the original Mercury Dime, which is beloved by collectors for its artistic merit and historical significance. Since people confused Liberty for the Roman god Mercury, that is what prompted the name. The reverse side has a Money Metals Exchange stylized torch and olive branches.

  • Size and Affordability: The 1/10th ounce size makes this gold bullion round an accessible option for a wide range of investors, from beginners to seasoned collectors. It allows for easier accumulation of gold in smaller increments and at a lower price point compared to full troy ounce rounds or coins.

  • Premium Over Spot: These gold bullion rounds typically carry a lower premium over the spot price of gold compared to government-minted gold coins of the same weight. This makes them an economical choice for investors looking to maximize the gold content of their investment for the price.

  • Non-Legal Tender Status: While these rounds are not legal tender, they are marked with the "Money Metals Exchange" brand to avoid any confusion with official currency. This non-legal tender status contributes to the lower premium over the spot price.

  • Minting and Authenticity: Minted in the USA, each round is crafted with precision and care to ensure it meets strict quality standards. The rounds feature inscriptions for weight, purity, and the Money Metals Exchange branding, guaranteeing their authenticity and metal content.

  • Investment and Collectible Appeal: The 1/10th Ounce Mercury Gold Round serves both as an investment in gold and as a collectible item. Its link to the historic Mercury Dime design adds numismatic interest, making it a desirable item for both investors and collectors.

  • Packaging: Rounds typically come in protective packaging to preserve their condition and ensure their authenticity. Bulk purchases may come in tubes or sheets, providing additional protection for larger investments.

In conclusion, the 1/10th Ounce Mercury Gold Round is an attractive option for those interested in precious metals. It combines the historical allure of the Mercury Dime design with the melt value and security of gold, offering a piece that is both a sound investment and a nod to the U.S. Mint's numismatic history.

    Beautiful Round
In my opinion a very nice round. The .9999 Pure makes it even better. I can't afford the 1 ounce Gold coins/rounds. Finding these 1/10 ounce rounds makes it easier to afford Gold. The service was Great with MoneyMetals. Fast service and very well packaged was nice too. All in All Everything went well, Thank You
