America The Beautiful Silver Coin (ATB Coin) - Lowell National Historical Park

Lowell National Historical Park is comprised of a number of sits located in and nearby the town of Lowell, Massachusetts, north of Boston. The park commemorates America's industrial heritage. Textile manufacturers built facilities in Lowell beginning in the early 1820's. The Merrimack river and a system of canals provided the needed power. Building was done according to a plan for the community which included more green and open space and clean dormitories for the workers, many of whom were women.

Lowell evolved into one of the largest manufacturing centers in the US by the mid-1800s, and attracted immigrant workers from Europe and elsewhere. Textile manufacturing domestically went into decline following the second World War and the factories were closed. The National Park was established in 1978 to preserve well over 100 years of industrial greatness.

Money Metals Exchange now offers the 5 ounce America the Beautiful silver coin (5 oz silver coin) which honors this remarkable bit of industrial history. The Lowell Park coin (Lowell silver) is 47th in the popular series which will ultimately include 56 different and beautiful designs.

  • The coins are strikingly large and the artwork is beautiful. They will be an interesting addition to any silver holding.
  • The coins are affordable with premiums similar to the American Eagle silver coin, despite lots of demand from coin collectors coupled with a limited mintage.
  • Each coin carries its own unique story.

The coin's reverse (or tails) side features a woman operating a power loom, with the city of Lowell in the background. This side is also inscribed with the words; Lowell, Masschusetts, 2019, and E Pluribus Unum.

The obverse carries the familiar coin portrait of George Washington - the portrait featured on current Washington quarters. The inscriptions on this side include; United States of America, Liberty, In God We Trust and Quarter Dollar.

The coins are packaged by the US Mint in tubes of 10 coins. A full Mint box contains 10 tubes for a total of 500 ounces (Lowell silver). The weight and purity (.999 Fine Silver, 5.0 Ounce) of the coin inscribed on the coin's rim and is guaranteed by the US government.

A silver coin is always a great way to invest in physical silver. Why not get some beauty, history and something to start conversations with to go along with your ounces? Each new release in the America the Beautiful series tends to go quickly. Many of the coins now command significant premiums in the secondary market. Don't delay - get yours while they are available.
