$5 Indian Head (1908–1916, 1929) Cleaned/Jewelry Grade - 0.2419 Troy Ounce Gold Content
The $5 Indian Head Gold Coin, minted from 1908 to 1916 and once again in 1929, is a highly prized piece of American numismatic history. Designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, this coin is distinguished by its unique incuse design, where the images and inscriptions are recessed into the surface of the coin rather than raised. This design sets the $5 Indian Head Gold Coin apart and adds to its appeal among collectors and investors alike.
With its significant gold content and historic design, the $5 Indian Head Gold Coin remains a popular choice for those looking to add a piece of American history to their precious metals portfolio.
A Cleaned/Jewelry Grade coin is a coin that has been altered from its original state through cleaning, polishing, or modification for use in jewelry, which diminishes its numismatic value. These coins are primarily valued for their precious metal content, or in this case, their gold content, as the alterations reduce their appeal to collectors and result in lower coin collecting market prices while maintaining their melt value.

Jacob C.June 28th, 2021Very pleased.Although the mark up is considerably higher than modern pieces with higher gold content, these coins are very appealing. My piece shows slight wear, ie, circulation, and it almost looks like I may have a piece that was counter stamped. All in all, I recommend MMX for this specimen.

Jay H.February 4th, 2021Gold GlittersI have been looking at these beautiful coins on the web site and they eventually sell out. I read all the reviews and they were positive. Here's my experience with this purchase at Money Metals. I ordered the coin over the phone with exceptional customer service provided. The advertisement on the web site depicts in a magnified view a high quality gold coin barely circulated. I was so impressed that when my coin arrived 3 days after I ordered it I found I was sent what would grade as an MS 62 approximately and was equal quality to the coin on the web site. The collectors value of this gold coin is diminished as the coin was polished but it actually looks much better than a non polished gold coin. BTW I shopped e-bay and other metals sites for pre-1933 gold Indian coins. None of them came close to matching the price I paid and I doubt the quality came close. I did my home work for months before making this purchase,.
