Buy 1 Oz Silver Maple Leaf Coins Featuring Queen Elizabeth II (Random Dates)

The 1 Oz Silver Maple Leaf coin, featuring Queen Elizabeth II, is a striking and highly sought-after piece among collectors and investors alike. Minted by the Royal Canadian Mint, these coins are renowned for their purity, design, and craftsmanship.

Each coin contains one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver (99.99% pure), making it a solid investment in precious metals and silver bullion coins.

The silver coin series has seen various iterations over the years, with slight variations in the design to commemorate different milestones or to update the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.

Coin Highlights:

  • Purity and Weight: Each coin is struck from one troy ounce (1 oz t) of .9999 fine silver, representing the highest purity standard for silver bullion coins. This makes them particularly attractive for those looking to invest in silver coins.

  • Diameter and Thickness: The 1 troy Oz Silver Maple Leaf coin has a diameter of 38 mm and a thickness of 3.29 mm. These dimensions have been consistent since the coin's introduction by the Royal Canadian Mint in 1988. The size and weight specifications contribute to the coin's recognizability and its appeal among collectors and investors in silver bullion.

  • Design: The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Over the years, the effigy of the Queen has been updated to reflect her aging. The different portraits provide a timeline of her reign, making each variant unique. The reverse, on the other hand, showcases the iconic maple leaf, a national symbol of Canada. The attention to detail in the leaf's engraving highlights the Mint's commitment to quality and design.

  • Legal Tender: These coins are legal tender in Canada, with a face value of 5 Canadian dollars. This adds a layer of security and assurance for investors and collectors, knowing that the coin holds a government-backed value.

  • Security Features: The Royal Canadian Mint has incorporated several security features into the Silver Maple Leaf coins to combat counterfeiting. This includes micro-engraved laser marks and radial lines, making it easier to verify genuine coins and protecting the investment of buyers.

  • Collectability and Investment: With their beautiful design, high purity, and the prestige of the Royal Canadian Mint, these coins are highly collectible. They also offer a relatively affordable entry point for new investors looking to diversify into precious metals. The variety in designs, especially those featuring Queen Elizabeth II from different years, adds to their appeal as collectible items.

  • Random Dates: When purchasing these coins with the indication of "Random Dates," buyers will receive coins from various years of issue. This adds an element of surprise and can enhance the collectibility of the coins received. It offers collectors and investors the chance to own a piece of history from different periods of Queen Elizabeth II's reign.

In summary, the 1 Oz Silver Maple Leaf coins featuring Queen Elizabeth II are not just pieces of precious metal but are also rich in history and design.

They represent a fusion of artistry, investment, and national pride, making them coveted items for collectors and investors worldwide.

Design Details

The Silver Maple Leaf coins have featured the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II since their inception in 1988. Over the years, there have been several versions of the Queen's portrait on the coins, reflecting her aging process.

These portraits are as follows:

  • 1988-1989: The original design by Arnold Machin depicted a younger Queen Elizabeth II.

  • 1990-2003: A more mature portrait by Dora de Pédery-Hunt was used, showing the Queen in her later years.

  • 2004-2023: The effigy designed by Susanna Blunt has been used, presenting a side profile of the Queen without a crown. This design marked a significant change as it was one of the few times the Queen was shown without a crown and is notable for its modern style.

Each of these portraits has been used on the Silver Maple Leaf coins to reflect the current image of Queen Elizabeth II at the time of minting. The Royal Canadian Mint updates the effigy to keep the coins current with the times and to honor the Queen's longevity and service.

The presence of these different portraits over the years also adds a layer of collectibility to the Silver Maple Leaf coins, as collectors often seek to own coins from each period of the Queen's portrayal.

Since 2024, the Royal Canadian Mint, along with most of the Commonwealth countries, has been using the effigy of King Charles III.

    FAST Service
I ordered some silver eagles and maple leaves along with some gold backs. I think my order shipped the same day as placed. That doesn't happen with many other bullion dealers. Received my package well wrapped and exactly what I ordered. Money Metals will have my future business. John S.

QUALITY products, Excellent SECURE packaging, sent with DISCRETION
I was initially uncertain about purchasing these items on the internet but have found that product after product are of good quality (shiny, lovely) and anything that they sell (other products).....that are tarnished or used..... are always in their description, so there are no ugly surprises. This coin is my favorite---but I have branched out to the half-ounce silver coin--(actually love that too)----along with a few other items. Am never disappointed. I very much appreciate that the packages are secure. They are also discrete-- it would be difficult to guess what is inside---in my experience, any container that only has a few loose coins is packaged so that they don't shake or rattle. I don't have a lot of money, I work, and what I buy is a FUN TREAT for ME. Happy to find this seller online, I trust their quality and have recommended them to friends. Seems like a well run business.
