Virginia House of Delegates Vote Overwhelmingly to Keep Gold and Silver Tax Free

(Richmond, Virginia - January 25, 2022) - Members of the Virginia House of Delegates have voted overwhelmingly to keep gold and silver purchases tax-free in the Commonwealth.

Last week, House Bill 3, sponsored by Del. Ware, reported out of the House Finance Committee with a 19-2 vote. 

Earlier today, the House of Delegates voted to keep the existing sales tax exemption in place by extending the sunset date until 2027.

After passage in the House, House Bill 3 will now be transmitted to the Senate.
